444 - Environment
Buenas!
Welcome back to 444. I’m Max. I'm a travelling photographer from Australia. 444 is my monthly recap. It collects recent thoughts and conversations honouring when you act with your heart.
This will land into your email at 4:44 from wherever I am in the world on the fourth of every month by signing up here. Each month you will find something 4 me, 4 you, and 4 us.
Expect more typos in this edition from a dance camp near Cali, Colombia. I’m adjusting to Cali’s sleep schedule. Sleep and dance are in constant clashes with each other. I’m connecting to both the latin dance and siesta culture.
Forwarded this to someone? They can sign-up to the email list here.
4 us - Sounds of Cali
A change in the order this month. A piece about Cali needs the company of music. This is a playlist of songs I’ve heard in Cali.
Festivals. Restaurants. Ubers. Gyms. Music is everywhere.
Cali is a hub for many different scenes. Salsa. Pacífico. Bachata. Zouk. Kizumba. Reggaeton.
I’m loving absorbing what I can in my short time here.
Listen whilst reading.
4 me - Environment
If it’s nice, travel twice. I’m so grateful to be back in Cali. I fell under its dancing spell in February. I’m back for another six-week block to reconnect with this unique.
Exploring my interests in dance has been difficult in other locations. It requires effort to seek it. In Cali it’s unavoidable.
Dance binds this city together. It’s at the core of social interactions. Dance is everywhere. Everyone dances.
I’ve returned to Cali to see what dancing everyday for an intense prolonged block can do for me. I’m realising new depths to the medicine of movement. When given the opportunity to move, magic follows.

4 you - Where do you thrive?
Existing in certain spaces brings you closer to where you want to be.
It could be a desired feeling or goal. For example, being closer to the mountains to hike; native speakers to practice another language; a thriving dance scene to learn salsa. The immersion and surrounding of like-minded people makes it easy. Access is a multiplier.
Is there a place where a part of you thrives?
Is there a way you can access this regularly?
I appreciate you reading the latest 444.
Thank you for being you and giving time to this creative pursuit of mine. If you know someone that might like it, I'd appreciate you forwarding this onto a friend. They can subscribe here.
Before you go, check out my Guna Yala Postcards shipping this month. All profits support the Caledonia traditional dance school in the San Blas Islands.
